Medical microneedling [Dermapen 4] is an effective method used to improve deeper acne scarring, not only on the facial area, but also on the body. Acne scarring on the back, shoulders and chest responds very well to our deeper needling protocols. The treatment creates a controlled injury into the Dermal layer of the skin, stimulating fibrocyte cells to produce new collagen, while breaking down damaged fibrous tissue (scar tissue). Increased collagen production and cell-turnover results in an improved appearance of scar tissue such as acne scarring and the skin in the surrounding area is rejuvenated.
